That's interesting because IMHO, Aion hype has been largely word of mouth. Looking at the newssites Champions Online and even DC Online (and of course SWTOR) are getting more hype, IMHO.... but NCSoft marketing has been notoriously weak in NA, IMHO. It's very interesting seeing an MMO that's been live for a year finally come to new markets, which are we.

Jeff Strain left the company. GW2's outlook seems to be even more grim.

It's weird, just a few minutes ago I was elated to finally get some news about a possible GW2 trailer being shown in Gamescom.

Now, that all is overshadowed by the founder of Guild Wars leaving NCSoft.... WTF is going on?

I took my time to read all of this thread, and now, that GW 2 trailer is released, and it's kind of amazing, I hope you all feel sorry for whatever bad things you said and all the bad thoughts. If you still have something to comment now, and still have complaints, then this must be just the nature of you as players, like one person said in the first 5 pages i think, that the players are not pleased no matter what (the person observed this on a WoW forum, even there, with monthly updates, the players were not pleased). I believe that the 2 years of silence totally payed off now with the release of this trailer.
And indeed...earlier I was hanging around in Spamadan, and people were complaining that at the end of the trailer the races seemed united, and that they wont get to kick some human ass with their Charr characters. I mean come on ) how can you still have complaints?

I have been playing GW for just a year and few months now and didnt really get the chance to get bored or frustrated about the lack of updates regarding GW2 and the lack of new content for GW1, but i can understand your frustration. The boys from ANet just wanted it to be mind blowing, and from what I saw, it is. I can only assume that the wait was worth it. As for the players who left, and some of you thinking they will never come back, I say you should think again. I'm sure that GW2 will bring back all of the lost players and surely much more. This is by far the best content I have ever seen in a game. I can peacefully title grind and not feel it's a waste of time, even if it takes 1 year or 2 untill the game is ready. I just hope you all feel the same, and congrats to those who didn't lose hope and faith.

I felt like I was watching a puppet show when I was watching the trailer.

I'm not sure if someone has said this yet but.... MONEY. Seriously without a new title how are they going to continue to make money? Everquest and WoW both have a monthly subscription. Oh and WoW is hugely more popular.
